A social, design-forward Porto stay with a central location and enough amenities to make me wish I'd actually had time to use them.

The Social Hub Porto is another hotel I barely had time to experience—but unlike some short stays, I left knowing I'd happily return.

I moved over from my Airbnb, dropped off my things, and almost immediately headed back out for a tour. By the time I returned later that night, my Porto itinerary had essentially swallowed the rest of my stay.

What stood out was how much the hotel seemed to offer beyond the room itself. My room felt small, but for a quick city stay, I didn't mind. And with communal spaces, dining, and a rooftop pool I never even managed to see, this felt like a hotel I'd need to experience differently next time.

Inside my stay

Basically: drop the bags and go.

I didn't spend much time in my room at The Social Hub Porto. I arrived, dropped off my belongings, and headed back out into Porto.

The room itself was on the smaller side, but that wouldn't necessarily stop me from returning. For the way I travel, especially on a city trip where I'm spending most of the day exploring, a smaller room can work perfectly well when the rest of the hotel gives me spaces to enjoy outside of it.

And that's where The Social Hub interested me most.

More than a Room

This is the part I need to experience next time.

The property offered much more than I managed to use during my stay, including social spaces and a rooftop pool.

I never even made it to the pool.

That's probably the biggest indication that my stay was too short to experience the hotel properly. If I returned, I'd intentionally spend more time using the property rather than treating it purely as somewhere to sleep between plans.

The Neighborhood

A central location that makes exploring Porto easy.

Located in Bonfim, just outside Porto's historic center, The Social Hub Porto gives you easy access to many of the city's main sights while still sitting slightly outside the busiest tourist areas. Its location made it convenient for me to drop my things, head straight back out to explore, and move around the city without spending much time getting from place to place.

For a quick trip like mine, that convenience mattered. And if I stayed longer, I'd still appreciate having such a central base while also having the hotel's communal spaces and amenities to come back to between exploring.

Honest verdict

What to Know Before Booking

I'd stay at The Social Hub Porto again.

My room was smaller than some of the other accommodations I experienced during Portugal, but the hotel isn't really selling itself on enormous rooms. The appeal is the combination of location, design, social atmosphere, and amenities beyond your room.

My only problem was that I didn't have enough time to use any of them.

Next time, I'd fix that.
