Son Hoi An Boutique Hotel & Spa: A Beautiful Boutique Stay Near Hoi An Old Town
Soft Life Stays | Hoi An, Vietnam
Stayed March 2024
Two nights, a balcony bathtub, vibrant interiors, and a location that made exploring Hoi An incredibly easy.

Sometimes the best thing about a hotel is how effortlessly it fits into your trip.
That's exactly how I felt about Sun Hoi An Boutique Hotel.
I spent two nights here during my visit to Hoi An, and between the colorful interiors, thoughtful amenities, and convenient location, it quickly became a property I'd happily book again.
What I appreciated most was being close enough to Old Town to explore on foot, while still having a comfortable, beautiful place to return to at the end of the day.
Quick Facts

Room: Senior Suite with balcony & tub / $100 USD per night after tax

First Impression
Colorful, Welcoming & Full of Personality
The first thing I noticed about Sun Hoi An Boutique Hotel was how vibrant it felt.
The lobby wasn't particularly large, but it was beautiful. There was artwork on the walls, colorful details, and an atmosphere that made the space feel inviting.
It had the personality I love finding in boutique hotels, where the design feels intentional without needing to be over the top.
Inside my Senior Suite
A Balcony Bathtub Worth Booking For
My favorite feature of the entire stay was easily the bathtub on the balcony.
There's something about having an outdoor bathtub and a beautiful view that makes a hotel room feel like an experience rather than simply somewhere to sleep.
The balcony itself had lovely views, and it became one of the standout features of my stay.
Inside, the room included a separate shower, double sinks, robes and slippers, a television, and a refrigerator.
A bottle of wine was also included with my booking, which was a nice extra touch.

Breakfast, Dining & Hotel Amenities
A Breakfast Buffet With Plenty of Options
Breakfast was included with my stay, although I only had the opportunity to enjoy it once.
The hotel served a buffet with both Vietnamese and Western-style breakfast options.
There were fresh fruits, cereal, coffee, tea, and a station where eggs and omelets were prepared to order.
I appreciated having a full breakfast selection rather than being limited to a few options.
A Few Extras Worth Knowing About
The hotel also offered several amenities that made it convenient for guests.
There was a swimming pool, although I didn't use it during my stay.
Bicycles were available for guests who wanted to explore the surrounding area.
The property also had a bar with happy hour specials, although I didn't get a chance to visit.
And there was an onsite spa. I treated myself to a foot massage one evening, which was a lovely way to unwind after walking around Hoi An.

The Location: One of My Favorite Things
Close Enough to Explore Old Town on Foot
One of the biggest reasons I would book Sun Hoi An Boutique Hotel again is the location.
Hoi An Old Town was approximately a 15 to 20 minute walk away, making it easy to explore without constantly arranging transportation.
There were also restaurants, other hotels, and plenty of places to stop nearby.
I spent a lot of my time in Hoi An walking around Old Town, visiting cafés, eating local food, and simply enjoying the atmosphere.
Being able to do that without relying on taxis made a difference.
Honest verdict
Would I Stay at Son Hoi An Boutique Hotel Again?
One hundred percent.
For $215 total over two nights, I felt like I received excellent value.
I loved the location, the colorful design, the comfortable suite, and especially the bathtub on the balcony.
Breakfast was included, the hotel offered useful amenities, and the staff maintained a welcoming environment.
For anyone looking for a boutique stay within walking distance of Hoi An Old Town, this is a property I would happily recommend based on my experience.
